The Two Sachas

The Two Sachas

Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis)

Essential oils are beneficial oils that our bodies do not make and our skin does not have. We need an external source for these healthy polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and there is no healthier source on the planet than the Peruvian jungle nut, sacha inchi. PUFAs include Omega 3, 6 and 9 which all have different effects. However the ratio of each of these is critical to our health and nature has given sacha inchi that perfect ratio.

If that weren’t enough, sacha inchi is also replete in tocopherols, a natural Vitamin E which by itself is a powerful antioxidant that may help reduce free radical damage and slow the aging process of skin cells, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Add to that a plant-based protein source (27%), other beneficial phytosterols and vitamins and sacha inchi appears to be one of nature’s most fascinating nuts.

In fact, it is richer than all other sources of Omega-3s on earth….except one.

Super Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia Huayllabambana)

Out of the Amazon rainforest and up in the Peruvian cloud forest, above 7200 ft, the recently discovered super sacha inchi is even healthier, more nutritious (and tastier) than it’s nutty cousin, volubilis.

In addition to its superior nutritional value, it is an excellent facial cosmetic as it acts as a superb moisturizer, and emollient. It boosts collagen, is anti aging and protects the skin from free radical damage.

Super sacha inchi is the next generation of skin care.
